Telavi Taxi — Driver App Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Telavi Taxi ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Telavi Taxi Driver mobile application (the "App"). The App is used by registered drivers to receive, accept, and complete taxi ride requests dispatched by Telavi Taxi in Telavi, Georgia, and the surrounding area.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

  • Account and registration information: your name, phone number, and the information you submit when applying to become a driver, which may include your driver's license details and vehicle information (make, model, license plate).
  • Communications: messages, feedback, or complaints you send to us or to our dispatchers.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Location data (including background location): see Section 3 below for a full description of how and when we collect your location.
  • Ride and work activity: rides assigned to you, accepted, declined, and completed rides, ride routes, timestamps, fares, and your earnings.
  • Online status: whether you are online and available to receive ride requests.
  • Device and technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, unique device identifiers, and IP address.
  • Push notification token: so we can send you new ride requests and service notifications.

3. Location Data and Background Location

The Telavi Taxi Driver app collects precise GPS location data to enable ride dispatching, real-time driver tracking, and ride navigation. When you are online and available for rides, the App collects your location even when the App is closed or running in the background.

We collect your location while you are online in order to:

  • Show your position to our dispatch service so ride requests can be assigned to the nearest available driver;
  • Show your position and estimated arrival time to the passenger you are assigned to;
  • Record the route of active rides for fare calculation;
  • Ensure the safety of passengers and drivers.

Location collection stops when you go offline in the App. You can also revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; however, without location access the App cannot dispatch rides to you and you will not be able to work.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your driver account;
  • Verify your eligibility to drive with Telavi Taxi;
  • Assign ride requests to you and manage dispatching;
  • Calculate fares and your earnings, and maintain payment records;
  • Send you service notifications, such as new ride requests and ride status updates;
  • Respond to your questions, feedback, and complaints;
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers and drivers, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud or misuse of the service;
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations;
  • Analyze and improve the quality of our service.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your personal information for third-party advertising.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following cases:

  • With passengers: when you are assigned to a ride, the passenger receives your name, phone number, vehicle information, and your real-time location while you are en route.
  • With our dispatch operators: our dispatchers see your online status, location, and ride activity in order to assign rides and monitor the service.
  • With service providers: we use trusted third-party services for hosting, push notifications, and map services. These providers process data only on our behalf and under our instructions.
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as you work with Telavi Taxi. Ride history, earnings, and payment records are retained for accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance purposes. Historical location traces are kept only as long as needed for these purposes. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at odikadzegiorgi4@gmail.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request, except for information we are legally required to retain (for example, payment and accounting records).

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel who need it to operate the service.

9. Your Rights

In accordance with the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request deletion of your data;
  • Withdraw consent to data processing at any time;
  • Object to processing or request restriction of processing where applicable.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for registered drivers who are of legal driving age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
